Telepathy

A balmy summer afternoon.
Maa sleeps after a tiring day’s work.
Brother tip-toeing to pack the cricket kit.
The clock ticks four.
Bouncy footsteps of an excited bunch draw near
as two equally enthralled kids stealthily come out of the house,
before a friend could release all the air in his lungs to scream their names.

Mobiles were yet to become as prevalent,
But the summer afternoon cricket games already taught us telepathy!
